Fernando Sordo Madaleno de Haro
The youngest son of the family, Fernando Sordo Madaleno de Haro is seen as an architectural purist whose dedication to the rigorous process of design is unequaled. His dual roles as Vice President of SOMA and Director of Architecture for Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos (SMA) make the most of his creativity, design sensibility, and passion for exploring the potential of every real estate development through the lenses of design, urbanism, and architecture. Fernando’s talent contributes immeasurably to the way SOMA’s projects improve the quality of life and urban dynamics in the communities where they are located.
As SMA’s Director of Architecture Fernando implements an interesting methodology in the design process that is based on research and sensitivity to the context. He has supervised dozens of projects of different typologies and scales from conceptualization to construction completion.
Fernando has won important international architecture competitions in the Dominican Republic, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. He was born in Mexico City and earned a degree in architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana, graduating with honors for his valuable contribution and performance.
