With a BS in Financial Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), José Juan has developed his professional career in financial planning, capital structuring and strategic management of real estate assets.

He joined Sordo Madaleno Group in 2009 and since then has been a key player in the evolution of the group towards a high financial profile institutional model, now consolidated as SOMA. Currently serves as Vice President of SOMA and CEO of FibraSOMA.

Under his leadership, capital and debt raisings in public and private markets have been structured and executed, as well as the acquisition, development and operation of large-scale real estate assets in Mexico. In 2021, he led the listing of FibraSOMA on the Bolsa Institucional de Valores (BIVA), consolidating a real estate trust with a portfolio strategically located in high-economic regions and a valuation close to $3.4 billion.

He is responsible for the financial and operational health of the portfolio, efficient capital allocation, evaluation of new developments and optimization of performance of stabilized assets. He has also promoted the incorporation of international brands in the Mexican market, strengthening the value proposition of the retail sector. In 2013 he founded a company specializing in retail that, under his leadership, currently represents 15 international brands in Mexico and operates more than 300 stores in the country.
